Job summary

Walmart Transportation seeks an Operations Manager, Fleet Safety, to lead a team focused on world-class safety and operations. You will identify risks, train drivers, and oversee investigations to ensure compliant, safe movement of goods across the country.

Responsibilities include supervising safety protocols, maintaining records, and communicating with stakeholders. The role requires knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/PHMSA regulations and a commitment to continuous improvement in safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety management, environmental science, traffic safety, transit safety, or related field with 2 years’ safety experience or 4 years’ traffic safety experience.
• 2 years’ experience in continuous improvement methodologies within supply chain or transportation maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify risks and conduct training to educate drivers on safe operation practices.
• Supervise the team to ensure safety protocols are followed and accountability is maintained.
• Handle reporting and investigations in the event of accidents or injuries with thorough analysis.
• Stay updated on OSHA regulations and reporting criteria to maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates regarding safe operations of Walmart tractors/trailers.
