Job summary

Gold Star Foods is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee delivery activity, dispatch personnel and equipment, and ensure safe, efficient operations in compliance with policies and regulations.

The role emphasizes driver safety, productivity, and customer service, with responsibilities including route review, performance appraisals, and equipment utilization. A 4-year degree or equivalent supervisory experience is preferred, and a CDL Class A license is required.

Qualifications

• DOT knowledge is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate ideas, problems, or conflicts to a satisfactory resolution.
• Ability to work independently.
• Leadership and supervision capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and retain a pool of professional drivers ensuring safety and compliance.
• Review routes to reduce miles/hours and improve equipment utilization.
• Assist in evaluating performance and ensure proper inspections and documentation.
• Dispatch and coordinate daily operations and routes; cover routes as needed.
• Develop drivers with product knowledge and customer etiquette.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards for all vehicles and DVIR checklists.
• Participate in drivers’ meetings and communicate with staff.
• Monitor safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Coach drivers to meet productivity goals and performance targets.
• Handle employee issues in collaboration with HR.
