Job summary

VSC Fire & Security seeks a Risk Coordinator to oversee fleet and insurance-related programs in an in-office role with potential for one remote day per week. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, including vacation, health coverage, and retirement options.

You will manage fuel cards, toll transponders, vehicle registrations, and MVR processes, while coordinating with HR, Marketing and divisions to ensure compliance and safety throughout the fleet.

Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and manage time to prioritize tasks.
• Demonstrated attention to detail for recordkeeping and compliance.
• Knowledge of fleet and/or transportation-related principles.
• Knowledge of auto, workers’ compensation, and other commercial insurance policies.
• People oriented with ability to work cross functionally with field employees.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong communication via phone, email and video conferencing.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of the Fuel Card program including ordering, replacing, terminating, and troubleshooting inoperable cards.
• Report fuel card transactions to the Divisions.
• Train drivers on the fuel program.
• Responsible for all aspects of the toll transponders including ordering, managing, reviewing usage and processing violations.
• Report all fleet vehicle and driver violations to HR and the appropriate Division.
• Ensure initial title and registrations are completed for all vehicles within the fleet.
• Manage the registration renewal program for all vehicles.
• Order auxiliary equipment for vehicles including first aid kits, roadside kits and cell phone mounts.
• Handle all state transfers and ensure vehicles are addressed properly for property tax purposes.
• Ensure vehicle insurance compliance.
• Perform inventory and driver assignment adjustments in various fleet database systems.
• Validate and ensure all drivers are enrolled in the MVR monitoring and driver training program, including reporting issues.
• Process any state specific MVR forms.
• Assign quarterly and event-based training for drivers.
• Review expired, cancelled, or suspended licenses.
• Consult with HR on new hire eligibility and pre-hire MVRs.
• Oversee inventory of fleet vehicle dashcams including ordering hardware, scheduling, installation, troubleshooting and deactivation of devices.
• Troubleshoot non-responsive GPS and telematics units, including vendor resolution.
• Review dashcam video and report safety issues to management as necessary.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for First Report of Injury submissions to insurance carriers, Safety Director, and HR.
• Work with Marketing on creating monthly driver newsletters.
• Use AI tools to review commercial insurance documents against VSC requirements.
• Maintain Risk Department recordkeeping for claims, accidents, incidents, and trend tracking.
