Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Branch Rental Manager (Outside Sales) to grow rental margins and revenue through aggressive marketing, fleet utilization, and cost control.

You will manage outside sales, customer retention, fleet planning, and day-to-day branch operations. The role requires strong leadership, disciplined follow-up, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; a Bachelor's degree and several years in rental, sales, and supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) years or more Rental or Sales experience.
• Three (3) years or more experience in Rental product line including outside sales & rental counter supervision.
• Two (2) years or more experience managing others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced).
• Understanding of marketplace conditions to maximize utilization of rental fleet.

Responsibilities

• Outside Sales/Marketing: Sets appointments with prospective customers and performs customer retention visits.
• Rental: Ensure rental contracts are properly completed and vehicles are ready for customers.
• Accounts Receivable: Custodian of cash and Rental Assets; follow ups on problems.
• Fleet management: Analyze fleet reports to identify problem vehicles and optimize utilization.
• Personnel Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff; conduct performance appraisals.
