Job summary

Hertz in Tampa is seeking a Fleet Specialist to execute day-to-day activities that keep vehicles rental-ready in status and location. You will coordinate registration, inventory, staging and tracking of non-retable units for a specific site, while splitting time between office duties and outdoor vehicle work with handheld EAM devices.

This role requires strong computer and tablet skills, proficiency with Excel and Outlook, and the ability to work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in car rental or asset control preferred.
• Prior logistic or transportation experience preferred.
• Proficient with computers/tablets; MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Flexible for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities to make vehicles rental/sale ready, including inspections and registrations.
• Review site VAW variance to resolve misclassified cars.
• Organize vehicle staging on lot for quick action based on status; use mobile scanning devices.
• Review non-rentable units and fleet levels; work with Pool Fleet Manager to restore operability.
• Ensure all vehicles are tagged with Quadrant system; follow up on aging vehicles.
• Inventory vehicles and monitor asset control points; maintain current fleet status.
• Add new asset tags to incoming fleet and log in EAM.
• Complete administrative duties: data entry, emails, report viewing, closing work orders, conference calls.
• Coordinate transportation and car haulers; scan Non-Revenue moves.
