Job summary

The Hertz Corporation is seeking a Fleet Specialist at a Des Moines site to ensure vehicles are rental ready, coordinate registrations, inventory, staging, and track non-retable units.

The role splits time between office and outdoors, requires comfort with handheld devices, data entry, and coordinating transportation. Prior car rental or asset-control experience is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in the car rental industry preferred.
• Prior asset control experience preferred.
• Prior logistic or transportation experience preferred.
• Must have ability to work with computers and tablets.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Outlook.
• Must be able to navigate GPS mapping applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities to make vehicles rental/sale ready, including inspections and registrations.
• Review variances to resolve cars improperly coded.
• Organize vehicle staging on the lot for quick action based on status.
• Review non-rentable units and fleet levels with the Pool Fleet Manager.
• Ensure vehicles are marked with the Quadrant system and follow up on aging.
• Inventory vehicles and monitor asset control points.
• Add new asset tags to incoming fleet and receive vehicles in EAM.
• Complete administrative duties such as data entry, emails, reports, and conference calls.
• Coordinate transportation and car haulers, including Non-Revenue moves.
