Job summary

Knightscope, Inc. seeks an experienced release engineer to own the shared OTA and release automation for multiple device platforms, enabling rapid, reliable fleet updates. This early hire in Engineering Services will unblock the K7 beta rollout and future device deployments.

The role focuses on building scalable OTA pipelines, coordinating with firmware and DevOps, and establishing robust release processes and on-call coverage for fleet releases on-site in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

7+ years in embedded fleet operations or release engineering.
Hands-on OTA update system design and operation.
Strong experience with device fleets at scale.
Release automation patterns (canary, staged, ring-based).
Infrastructure-as-code fluency.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate the shared OTA and release pipeline across device products.
Partner with Signals firmware engineers on unified OTA delivery.
Establish release SLOs, rollback discipline, and an on-call rotation for fleet releases.
Partner with DevOps and Platform to connect cloud pipelines to on-device delivery.
Contribute to cross-product release standards through the Center of Engineering Excellence.
