Job summary

Knightscope, Inc. is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer onsite at Sunnyvale, CA to complete the phased migration of the Signals device firmware, taking ownership from vendor to internal teams.

You will work with Engineering Services on fleet-wide OTA delivery and contribute to the firmware release process. The role emphasizes 7+ years in embedded firmware, strong C/C++ and Linux expertise, and experience with OTA updates across production fleets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in embedded firmware engineering.
• Strong C/C++ and Linux embedded systems experience.
• OTA update mechanisms and production fleet firmware experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete the phased migration of Signals device firmware from vendor to internal ownership.
• Provide on-call coverage and redundancy for the firmware layer.
• Partner with Engineering Services on unified OTA delivery.
• Contribute to firmware release process, version control, and rollback discipline.
• Participate in cross-product firmware standards through the Center of Engineering Excellence.
