Job summary

Verkada seeks a Firmware Release & Test Automation Engineer to own end-to-end release pipelines for embedded platforms. You will architect HIL/SIL test infrastructures, define gatekeeping criteria, and coordinate safe OTA updates across Verkada's global device fleet.

You will collaborate with firmware, backend, and hardware teams, mentor peers, and drive automation to improve build and test cycles. onsite at San Mateo, CA.

Qualifications

• BS or graduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software/firmware build infrastructure or release engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define, optimize, and manage end-to-end release pipeline for embedded Linux and RTOS builds.
• Design, build, and scale HIL/SIL test harnesses to catch regressions before field deployment.
• Establish go/no-go qualification criteria and lead bug triage with firmware teams.
• Drive staged fleet rollouts, canary deployments, and automated telemetry monitoring.
• Develop tools and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate firmware build, packaging, and testing.
• Collaborate with firmware, backend, and hardware teams and mentor peers.
