Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II to oversee driver management, ensure DOT compliance, and coordinate safe, on-time freight movements.

You will lead performance analysis, budgeting, and reporting, collaborate with drivers and customers, and manage fleet operations across shifts including nights and weekends. This role emphasises leadership, problem solving, and strong communication in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2–3 years of transportation/logistics experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover.
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with fleet optimization and profitability.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Analyze fleet operations and KPIs, present reports to leadership.
• Manage yard, equipment maintenance and repairs scheduling.
• Plan loads, route freight, monitor on-time service and adjust as needed.
• Ensure DOT compliance and company safety requirements.
