Job summary

Watson Civil Construction is seeking a Fleet Assistant in St. Augustine, FL to support day-to-day fleet operations and telematics under the Risk & Fleet Manager. The role focuses on asset tracking, coordination with drivers and vendors, and ensuring accurate fleet data.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in fleet operations or telematics, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office. In-office position with opportunities to impact maintenance and upfitting decisions on a busy construction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum two years in fleet operations, telematics, or related roles.
• Experience with fleet management and telematics hardware is preferred.
• Strong communication, data entry accuracy, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day fleet operations support and serve as a point of contact for fleet questions.
• Maintain accurate vehicle and equipment inventory and assignment records.
• Update fleet/telematics systems when personnel changes occur.
• Assist with vehicle ordering, delivery, upfitting, assignment, transfer, and disposal.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for vehicles.
• Support telematics installation, configuration, and system administration.
• Monitor GPS/telematics devices and confirm accurate reporting of location and usage.
• Troubleshoot device, wiring, connectivity, and software issues.
• Track devices through resolution and coordinate with providers and drivers.
• Review telematics data on driver behavior and safety events.
