J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Manager Trainee, May 2027 in the Supply Chain department.

Under general supervision, you will learn to manage a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring safe and timely movement of freight and best-in-class customer service. This role trains you to plan, route, and monitor freight, perform payroll and budget tasks, coordinate with drivers, customers, and carriers, and support compliance with DOT

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degrees listed or equivalent military experience required.
• Ability to travel to locations as needed for accounts and events.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when required.
• Willingness to relocate regionally based on assignment.

Mansioni

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to set up new accounts and improve productivity.
• Fill in for absent staff and support projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Assist with training drivers and staff on internal systems and processes.
• Help maximize efficiency of fleet operations and analyze KPIs and reporting for customers.
• Gain knowledge to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments across markets.
• Perform payroll, budget management, driver counseling, and pay issue resolution.
• Assist with yard management, inspections, repairs, and coordinating with maintenance.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues and plan routes.
• Maintain safety culture with driver messages, trainings, and DOT-compliant practices.
• Plan loads, monitor freight movement, and adjust ETAs as needed while considering road factors.
