Louis, MO, seeks a Transportation Manager II to supervise midsize driver teams and ensure safe, timely freight movement. You will plan routes, assign loads, and maintain strong customer relations while meeting DOT and safety standards. The role requires flexibility to cover day, night, and weekend shifts, plus coordination with internal and external contacts for planning, routing, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships.
• Experience in delivering commitments with open communication and feedback.
• Accurate information processing and informed decision making.
• Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel to account locations.
• Adapt to dynamic work environments and shifting directives.
• Experience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations.
• Ability to perform under stress and in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and third-party systems.
• Analyze fleet operations and profitability; create customer-specific reporting and financial analyses.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Handle payroll, driver counseling, invoicing, and related admin duties.
• Oversee yard operations, maintenance scheduling, and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues.
• Maintain safety culture with daily messages, trainings, and DOT compliance.
• Plan loads, route and monitor freight movement to ensure on-time service.
