Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Management professional in Omaha, NE to build driver relationships and optimize loads.

You will use our operating systems and driver telematics to meet driver needs, from home time to payroll, while coordinating with multiple departments to maintain a full driver board. The role emphasizes teamwork with logistics managers and operations, ensuring timely execution and adherence to customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 2–3 years of fleet management or transportation experience preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, proven management ability, and skill in operating a computer terminal and satellite communications system required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships using our systems, driver telematics, and direct communication.
• Partner with Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, and freight details.
• Align with customer service goals and Werner’s value to improve outcomes.
• Interface with billing, risk, safety, payroll, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Work with Operations Manager to maintain a full board of drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager.
• Maintain timely attendance per scheduled shift.
