Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Manager to plan and direct operations, improving productivity and efficiency. You will lead the dispatch staff, company drivers, and owner operators while overseeing communications to optimize vehicle utilization.

Responsibilities include scheduling, route planning, driver assignments, compliance, and cost control. A strong focus on safety, training, and process improvement will be essential.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
• Three+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or related field.
• Two+ years of managing and leading direct reports.
• Excellent knowledge of Transportation and/or Warehouse Logistics operations and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily fleet operations.
• Develop policies, programs, and procedures for efficient transportation systems and terminals.
• Set schedules, routes and assign drivers and vehicles.
• Be the first point of contact for operational information and driver scheduling.
• Recruit, orient, train, and monitor progression of new drivers.
• Monitor turnover and analyze metrics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, government regulations, and internal procedures.
