Job summary

Landair Transport is seeking an entry-level Fleet Manager to coordinate a dedicated fleet of professional drivers, communicate with customers, and help meet service goals. You will track loads, ETAs, and driver performance while supporting payroll and fuel issues as needed.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow in operations, compliance, and customer satisfaction across the Baton Rouge market.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related field preferred.
• AS400 and/or TMW experience preferred but not required.
• 0-3 Years Management Experience or similar leadership role.
• Transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage dedicated fleet of professional drivers and optimize utilization.
• Coordinate messaging for overall operations and drive customer service.
• Address service failures across driver, dispatch, planning, safety, and maintenance areas.
• Track and trace the trucks in the morning and throughout the day.
• Manage home time requests per accounts' expectations and communicate with customers.
• Maintain proactive communication with drivers to prevent issues and turnover.
• Receive ETAs/PTAs and update load statuses with customers.
• Develop relationships with drivers and set clear performance expectations.
• Monitor loads and follow up on late pickups/deliveries with customers.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues and maintain quality.
• Follow procedures to ensure consistency and quality; manage PM schedules.
