Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and manage a diverse fleet of gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles in Golden. You will diagnose issues, perform engine and transmission repairs, and keep detailed service records while supporting fleet availability and cost-effectiveness.

The role operates a four-day week (Mon-Thu, 6:00 am–4:30 pm) on-site at the Golden fleet shop, with a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year work related experience.
• Certifications: CDL may be required within one year of employment.
• ASE certification preferred.
• CDL preferred.
• Tow Truck experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform major engine adjustments and rebuilds.
• Rebuild or replace vehicle parts.
• Perform mechanical repairs on drive train, brake, steering and other parts.
• Replace vehicle operating systems.
• Tune engines.
• Perform welding or machine work.
• Work with customers to ensure repairs.
