Job summary

Star Construction LLC is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair the company’s fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will diagnose failures, plan maintenance, and perform routine service tasks to keep operations efficient.

You will be responsible for inspecting systems, performing repairs, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace, while following company procedures and safety standards. CDL-A is preferred but not required for all roles.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States
• CDL-A preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience as a mechanic, preferably with fleet vehicles or commercial equipment
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Mechanics may need to provide own tools; shop supplies large-diameter and specialty tools as needed
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment

Responsibilities

• Determine repair or maintenance plans for vehicles and equipment based on cost/benefit analysis
• Conduct diagnostics to troubleshoot failures in vehicles and equipment
• Inspect and provide strategic recommendations for proactive maintenance
• Follow work procedures for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment such as trackhoes, backhoes, and other specialized machinery
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations
• Ensure vehicles are clean and fueled at all times
• Operate and test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Other duties as assigned
