Job summary

Star Construction LLC is hiring a Mechanic to perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on the company fleet. You’ll ensure safe, efficient operation in line with company and regulatory standards.

Role requires troubleshooting, proactive maintenance, and ability to work with a range of vehicles and heavy equipment. Benefits include weekly pay, PTO and holidays, 401(k) with company match, and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license (CDL-A preferred) and acceptable driving record.
• Mechanics may be expected to provide their own standard tools; shop supplies larger/specialty tools.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a mechanic, preferably with fleet vehicles or commercial equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Determine repair or maintenance plans for vehicles and equipment based on cost/benefit analysis.
• Conduct diagnostics to troubleshoot failures in vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and provide strategic recommendations for proactive maintenance.
• Follow work procedures for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and fueled at all times.
• Operate and test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
