Job summary

ContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is seeking a Fleet Manager for our Elwood, IL terminal. You will serve as the direct link between drivers and customers and support day-to-day operations to maximize productivity and on-time service.

Responsibilities include leading owner-operators, ensuring compliance, negotiating loads, and developing contractor relationships to improve performance and retention.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years intermodal/container transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Experience managing a fleet of contractors/owner-operators.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic thinker in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with dispatch systems (TMS) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision of a fleet of owner-operators.
• Monitor delivery performance, fleet profitability and regulatory compliance.
• Assign equipment as needed and optimize loads for efficiency.
• Oversee load distribution among contractors and negotiate loads when needed.
• Coordinate training for the fleet and maintain contractor relationships.
• Resolve disputes between customers, terminals, and contractors.
• Ensure DOT compliance and hours-of-service adherence.
