Job summary

ContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is hiring a Fleet Manager for our new terminal in Elwood, IL. You will lead a fleet of owner-operators, focusing on safety, compliance, and exceptional service for customers.

Responsibilities include optimizing loads, negotiating rates, and partnering with Customer Success to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Strong DOT knowledge and fleet coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required and alignment with ContainerPort Group values.
• 2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience preferred.
• Experience with fleet of contractors/owner-operators and DOT regulations.
• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a fleet of owner-operators to ensure on-time service.
• Monitor delivery performance, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
• Assign equipment and optimize load distribution among contractors.
• Coordinate with Customer Success to manage load acceptance and scheduling.
• Negotiate rates with contractors and develop long-term relationships.
• Resolve disputes involving contractors with terminal or customer teams.
• Track DOT compliance, hours of service, and vehicle safety requirements.
• Coordinate required training for fleet contractors.
