Job summary

World Group is seeking a Fleet Manager for our Minneapolis terminal to lead a fleet of owner-operators and ensure on-time service for customers. The role requires coordinating loads, optimizing routes, and maintaining strong relationships with contractors.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years in intermodal transportation, strong knowledge of DOT regulations, and proven communication and negotiation skills to drive efficiency and reliability across the network.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Experience working with fleet of contractors/owner operators.
• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic thinker in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize and execute time-sensitive tasks.
• Computerized dispatch skills (TMS).
• Strong computer skills with MS Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervise our fleet of owner-operators.
• Monitor and ensure effective and efficient delivery performance, fleet profitability and regulatory compliance.
• Assign equipment as needed.
• Maximize efficiency and profitability of every delivery.
• Oversee fair and equitable distribution of loads among contractors.
• Plan and execute order of deliveries to optimize load drop-offs and pickups.
• Coordinate with Customer Success to accept/decline loads.
• Negotiate rates with contractors outside of the ICOA.
• Develop lasting relationships with contractors to improve performance and retention.
• Resolve customer/terminal/rail disputes involving contractors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with DOT and related regulations.
• Coordinate required training for fleet of contractors.
