Job summary

World Group, through its ContainerPort Group unit, is seeking a Fleet Manager for a new terminal in Elwood, IL. You will lead our fleet of owner-operators, ensure on-time service, and maximize productivity while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience.
• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervise fleet of owner-operators.
• Monitor delivery performance, fleet profitability and regulatory compliance.
• Assign equipment as needed to maximize efficiency.
• Oversee load distribution among contractors to optimize productivity.
• Plan delivery sequences for efficient drop-offs and pickups.
• Coordinate loads with Customer Success team.
• Negotiate rates with contractors.
• Develop relationships with contractors to improve performance and retention.
• Resolve disputes involving contractors across operations.
• Monitor DOT and compliance issues and take appropriate action.
• Coordinate required training for contractors.
