Job summary

Republic Services in West Columbia, SC seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical and HVAC components.

Diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and provide on-road service. Training and growth opportunities are available with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with safety and quality focus.
• Understand work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years of technician experience or upcoming graduation from automotive college/technical school within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain chassis components and refuse bodies with their control, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Service light engine, suspension, drive train, steering and HVAC systems.
• Safely provide road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Complete applicable company training programs.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
