Job summary

Republic Services in North Charleston, SC seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and service diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, brakes, HVAC, and drive components. You will work under supervision and help keep our fleet on the road.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance on heavy-duty trucks or similar machinery.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician role or recent automotive technical training.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and perform preventative and repair maintenance on vehicle systems on-site and on-road.
• Repair chassis, refuse bodies, and braking systems.
• Perform light engine repair and maintenance.
• Work on suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Service heating and air conditioning components.
• Welding and basic fabrication as needed.
• Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identify malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Complete required Company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
