Job summary

Republic Services in Charleston, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment. You will work on chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and perform engine diagnostics with a focus on safety and reliability.

With 5–7 years of heavy-truck experience, you will diagnose multi‑system issues, use scan tools, and complete company training.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy‑duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose multi‑system issues and perform inspections/repairs with limited supervision.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience and Class B CDL are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repair maintenance on chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Diagnose engine, fuel, braking, suspension, drive train and aftertreatment systems; use scan tools for diagnostics.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication; identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete training programs.
• Other duties as assigned and required by the company.
