Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC is seeking a full-time Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance and expert diagnostics on the company’s vehicles and equipment. You will conduct inspections, repairs, and documentation to ensure safety and reliability across the fleet.

Responsibilities include annual inspections, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and maintaining tools and records. Requires HD truck training and a valid driver's license; ASE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education includes medium/heavy-duty truck tech training and HS diploma or GED.
• 2-year school with 1 year experience or 3 years fleet maintenance experience.
• ASE certifications encouraged but not required; 609 HVAC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct annual FAI/CVI inspections per regulations for tractors, trailers, and equipment.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engines, transmissions, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Document work performed on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
• Use electrical meters and diagnostic tools for fault finding and repair.
• Operate safely, maintain tools, and comply with DOT/OSHA regulations.
