Job summary

Sysco Foods is seeking an on-site Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a broad range of fleet equipment. You will diagnose and fix engines, transmissions, electrical systems and HVAC, ensuring safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

The role requires a truck-tech training background, a valid driver's license, and relevant ASE/inspector certifications. Shift details to be discussed; tool allowance and benefit options are provided.

Qualifications

• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair
• Current and valid driver's license.
• Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification, ASE certifications; 609 HVAC Certification (preferred, not required)
• Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Perform FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability.
• Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications (engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC, etc.).
• Follow procedures including documenting all work performed on work orders.
• Learn and develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing
• Knowledge of controls and electric (DC) low voltage
• Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.
