Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Flowood, MS to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment on a single fleet of state-of-the-art vehicles. Under supervision, you’ll work on chassis, refuse bodies, brake systems, HVAC, and more to keep drivers on route.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance on Class 1-8 trucks or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician role or graduating from automotive school within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems, performing preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service when necessary to ensure equipment is back in operation.
• Identifies the source of malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
