Job summary

FedEx Freight in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a skilled maintenance technician to provide preventive maintenance and repairs for tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment. You will perform diagnostics, document work, and ensure safe operation across fleet components.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1 year experience in vehicle maintenance or related certificate.
ASE Certifications (Medium/Heavy Truck) and Class A CDL preferred.
Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic systems.
Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostics.
Knowledge of gas/diesel engines.
Familiarity with lifting devices and precision measuring instruments preferred.
Able to lift up to 110 pounds with assistance or equipment.
Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment.
Perform basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
Collaborate with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
Document maintenance in writing and electronically.
Conduct safety inspections and record findings.
Perform paint and body work as required.
Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
May drive service van to off-site locations.
