Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in the United States. You will diagnose multi-system issues and perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, and hydraulic/electrical systems.

The role covers on-site and on-road work with ongoing training and opportunities for growth. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in a technician role or recent technical schooling, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to work on

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work on Class 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician position with gasoline and diesel diagnosis/repair or graduation from a technical school within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of vehicle components and systems and perform preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance; refuse bodies and related systems.
• Light engine repair; suspension, drivetrain and steering systems; HVAC.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identify malfunction sources using electronic tools; complete company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
