Job summary

Chick-fil-A, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician—Class B to service a range of delivery equipment including heavy tractors, trailers, and liftgates. You will follow safety standards, inspect and repair, document repairs, and ensure high equipment availability for delivery operations.

The role requires diesel/refrigeration knowledge, tools, and the ability to work independently, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of relevant maintenance experience in fleet or heavy equipment.
• Must acquire EPA 608 & EPA 609 licenses within 6 months of hire.
• Must provide basic hand tools for daily work.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing air and hydraulic brake systems.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and refrigeration systems; able to perform repairs.
• Experience with hydraulic liftgates and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
• Strong ability to walk, stand for long hours, and lift heavy items as needed.
• Must work independently, onsite, and be available nights/weekends/shifts.
• Good English communication for documentation and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks per Chick-fil-A safety standards.
• Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment; troubleshoot issues.
• Document repairs and work orders in the Fleet Maintenance System.
• Close out work orders promptly with accurate information.
• Repair delivery equipment, tractors, trailers, and related machinery.
• Maintain material handling equipment and liftgates.
• Inspect brake, steering, suspension components for safe operation.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tractors, trailers, refrigeration, and material equipment.
• Diagnose fleet issues using InSite, Road Ranger, and other tools.
• Utilize hand and power tools to repair equipment and machines.
• Raise trucks and parts with jacks/hoists; communicate issues to supervisor.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies; safe work practices.
• Keep area clean and organized; assist with roadside service as needed.
• Mentor other employees and coordinate with transportation team.
