Job summary

Republic Services in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. You will work under supervision to service chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, and drive train.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician role diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment; or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components and refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Repair and service air and hydraulic braking systems, suspension, drive train and steering.
• Perform light engine repair and maintenance and HVAC components.
• Weld and fabricate as needed and provide road service when required.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete training programs.
