Job summary

Recology in San Francisco is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for the swing shift to oversee maintenance staff, schedule work, and ensure service and repair of vehicles and equipment.

The role requires supervisory experience, a high school diploma, and CDL Class A or B with no air brake or automatic transmission restrictions; Bachelor's degree preferred. You will coordinate purchases, recordkeeping, safety, and communications with operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience supervising union personnel.
• Valid CDL Class A or B with no air brake or automatic transmission restrictions on hire or within six months.
• Knowledge of training, supervision, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Monitors workflow, adjusts schedules, and assigns employees to rebalance workload to minimize downtime.
• Supports the Equipment Maintenance Manager in ensuring all facets of the maintenance operations are met.
• Ensures maintenance personnel follow policies for inspection, maintenance and repair, and adhere to company/unions rules.
• Assists with purchasing parts, supplies, tools, and machinery as needed.
• Maintains records related to service, repair, parts, inventory, vehicles, and equipment activities.
• Conducts inspections/audits to ensure safe, efficient, compliant operations; communicates with mechanic team and operations.
• Must be able to work any assigned shift and respond to equipment emergencies 24/7.
• Other duties as assigned.
