Job summary

8Fleet is hiring for a Fleet Maintenance role in the San Francisco area. You will ensure vehicles are ready to drive by scheduling preventive maintenance, coordinating repairs, and managing external shops and vendors.

You will direct the Fleet Specialist team and track downtime, costs per vehicle, and maintenance records. On-call hours, some nights and weekends are required to keep the fleet in service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fleet, automotive or vehicle maintenance (shop, dealership service, rental, delivery or transit fleet).
• Working knowledge of vehicle systems and experience managing vendors.
• Comfort with fleet software. We use Fleetio, Samsara and ServiceUp.
• Availability for a 24-hour operation, including some nights, weekends and on‑call.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Own the preventive maintenance schedule for your market.
• Coordinate repairs and track every vehicle until it's back in service.
• Manage outside shops and vendors, from scheduling through invoice review.
• Direct the day‑to‑day work of the Fleet Specialist team.
• Track downtime and cost per vehicle, and keep maintenance records and inspections current.
• Take unsafe vehicles out of service and escale safety issues right away.
