Job summary

8Fleet in San Francisco is seeking a Fleet Supervisor to lead daily shift operations, monitor driver schedules, track vehicle movements, and respond to real-time issues to keep vehicles and drivers moving efficiently. You will allocate drivers to routes, optimize resource utilization, and collaborate with other departments while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Strong GPS and dispatch software experience, excellent communication, and decision-making under pressure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's preferred.
• 2+ years in a fast-paced transportation or logistics environment with supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with GPS tracking systems and dispatch software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work quickly and decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency with Gmail and other apps as needed.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including Thursdays through Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations: monitor driver schedules, vehicle locations, and respond to real-time issues.
• Manage driver assignments: allocate drivers to routes for optimal utilization.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and staff via multiple channels.
• Monitor driver performance: track on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, safety.
• Maintain accurate records of shift activities and incidents.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
