Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Ohio is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team, coordinate repairs, and uphold safety and regulatory standards across the fleet.

You will train staff, schedule work, perform vehicle inspections, manage parts inventory, and handle road calls and repairs to minimize downtime.

Collaborate with management to improve efficiency and safety; this role requires flexible hours, ability to travel between offices, and readiness for night and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 3 years repair and maintenance on diesel heavy vehicles and hydraulics.
• Waste industry experience is a plus.
• Management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff, train, schedule, and authorize overtime.
• Perform supervisory reviews, track attendance, and accountability.
• Prioritize work to meet operations needs and efficiency.
• Coach staff using SAP and assign tasks.
• Communicate fleet status with management and others.
• Ensure maintenance meets quality and safety standards.
• Perform and monitor vehicle inspections.
• Review work orders and manage parts inventory.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
• Train employees to meet or exceed standards.
• Work cross-functionally and maintain positive relationships.
• Conduct observations and audits for safety.
• Perform road calls to repair vehicles and road test as needed.
• Perform mechanical duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
