Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for a 2p-12am shift. You will supervise a maintenance team, prioritize work, and ensure safety and compliance with OSHA/DOT regulations while coordinating with management on fleet and equipment status.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, parts inventory, staff training, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain high performance and reliability across our fleet and facilities.

Qualifications

• 3 years performing repairs and maintenance on heavy diesel vehicles and related components.
• Waste industry experience is a plus.
• Management experience preferred.
• Experience with welding equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and DOT rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff, including training, scheduling, and overtime authorization.
• Perform supervisory functions: reviews, attendance tracking, accountability.
• Prioritize work to meet operations needs and efficiency targets.
• Coach and mentor direct reports with proper use of SAP programming and assignments.
• Communicate with management on fleet status and equipment.
• Maintain quality and safety standards in the maintenance department.
• Perform and monitor vehicle inspections.
• Review work orders and manage parts inventory.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
• Train employees to meet or exceed standards.
• Work cross-functionally to maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Conduct observations and audits to ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Perform road calls to repair vehicles and test drive for repairs.
