Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Columbus, OH is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead the maintenance team and ensure safe, efficient fleet operations. You’ll supervise tasks, track performance, and coordinate with operations to keep vehicles in top condition.

The role requires diesel/heavy vehicle maintenance experience, leadership ability, and solid knowledge of SAP is a plus; strong safety compliance and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with repair manuals, electrical wiring, and schematics to troubleshoot.
• Attention to detail and ability to track and maintain documentation.
• Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, SAP a plus.
• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, etc.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance staff, including training, scheduling work assignments, and overtime authorization, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Perform supervisory functions including employee reviews, attendance monitoring, and accountability.
• Prioritize work to meet operations needs and ensure efficiency.
• Coach and mentor direct reports with proper use of SAP programming and assignments.
• Communicate with management and operations regarding fleet status and equipment.
