SEPTA in Philadelphia seeks a Shift Foreman/Fleet Maintenance Manager to supervise maintenance personnel and oversee depot operations. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and cost control within a 2,200-square-mile service region.

The incumbent will manage multiple disciplines, including electrical/electronic and running repair activities, and will ensure compliance with safety and labor agreements while supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with two years of advanced technical training in field of specialization.
• Three years of vehicle maintenance experience required.
• In lieu of two years of training, four additional years of maintenance experience may be considered.
• Must possess acceptable attendance, performance and safety records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance personnel, schedule work to maximize safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee major vehicle and building overhaul programs including preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Control labor and material expenditures within budget; issue material requisitions.
• Coordinate with union personnel and other supervisors to plan activities.
• Maintain records on requisitions, schedules and reports to reduce waste and losses.
• Provide technical assistance in repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
