Job summary

SEPTA is seeking a Director of Maintenance for the Power Department to lead inspection, maintenance and renewal of critical infrastructure across the organization. The role oversees subordinate directors and maintenance managers, ensuring productivity, quality, reliability and safety within SEPTA's power facilities and traction systems.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of technical experience including supervisory roles; CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with supervisory experience (4+ years) preferred.
• Experience managing traction power systems or similar electrical infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications/licensing as required by SEPTA, state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directs inspection, maintenance and renewal of infrastructure systems, fixed plant and equipment.
• Oversees safety programs and ensures compliant working conditions.
• Manages staffing, training, and performance of maintenance personnel and supervisors.
• Develops maintenance procedures, standards and annual activity forecasts.
• Recruitment and development of supervisory staff and leadership skills.
