Job summary

Penn Power Group in Philadelphia is seeking a Service Department Manager to lead daily operations, supervise diesel technicians, and ensure timely repairs.

You will build strong customer relationships, schedule work orders, and partner with sales and operations to drive growth. The role requires 3+ years in heavy-duty diesel repair with leadership experience, and knowledge of diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in heavy-duty diesel repair with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic equipment.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Experience with service software and reporting tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely repairs.
• Supervise and mentor a team of diesel technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Schedule and prioritize work orders to meet customer expectations and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by communicating clearly and effectively about diagnostics, estimates, repairs, and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor parts inventory and work with the parts department to ensure timely procurement.
• Review and analyze service reports, KPIs, and technician productivity to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support business goals.
