Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Shop Foreman to manage all maintenance activities during the shift, including preventive maintenance and repairs of vehicles. The role oversees maintenance and utility staff, ensures contractual requirements are met, and handles reporting and budget management.

The ideal candidate will have experience with air conditioning systems, transmissions, electrical diagnostics, emission systems, and wheelchair lifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
• Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
• Manage the financial / accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
• Technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
• Diesel experience preferred.
• ASE certified truck or school bus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations during shift, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Supervise maintenance and utility staff; ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Handle daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting; manage budget for maintenance program.
• Train and develop maintenance staff; coordinate with Fleet Manager on day-to-day running.
• Apply knowledge of air conditioning, transmissions, electrical diagnostics, emissions, and wheelchair lifts.
