Job summary

SEPTA, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, seeks a Director of Maintenance-Power to oversee inspection, maintenance and renewal of infrastructure, fixed plant and equipment within the Infrastructure area of Engineering, Maintenance and Construction.

The role directs subordinate Directors and Maintenance Managers, drives safety, quality and reliability, and develops skilled, motivated teams. A Bachelor’s degree with extensive supervisory experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years relevant technical maintenance/engineering experience, including 4+ years supervisory experience.
• Experience managing Traction Power systems or similar electrical infrastructure preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License (CDL may be required) and technical certifications as applicable.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and supervises detailed maintenance procedures.
• Forecasts maintenance activities for budget and other purposes.
• Ensures safe working conditions according to safety practices and procedures.
• Directs the activity of subordinate Directors and Maintenance Managers.
• Improves condition of physical plant to support productivity and safety.
• Manages staffing levels to meet performance requirements without excessive overtime.
