Job summary

The role requires 3–5 years of management and heavy-vehicle maintenance experience, with strong problem-solving and independent work capabilities. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of previous management experience.
• 3–5 years performing repairs and maintenance on diesel-powered heavy vehicles.
• Experience with maintaining parts inventory.
• Familiarity with repair manuals, electrical wiring, and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manages the maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and overtime approval.
• Communicates with operations regarding fleet status and equipment availability.
• Controls maintenance costs related to personnel, purchasing, inventory, and outsourcing repairs.
• Identifies trends in road calls and shop hours and responds appropriately.
• Maintains preventive maintenance program for vehicle safety and efficiency.
• Trains staff to improve performance and enforces safety standards.
• Prepares reports and completes disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintains records including compliance documentation.
