Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations, supervise staff, and ensure timely completion of tasks in compliance with DOT specifications.

The role focuses on managing equipment, inventory, and licenses, coaching employees, reducing downtime, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. The position requires strong leadership, union awareness, and flexibility to cover multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; some college preferred.
• Must have 3+ years of supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
• Must have 3+ years’ experience dealing with heavy equipment. Experience with hybrid vehicles a plus.
• Experience working with Unions and in the transportation industry a must.
• Must have previous experience supervising employees on multiple shifts.
• ASE certifications are required.
• Must be a team player yet able to work well independently.
• Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy and possesses good judgment and discretion.
• Detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective time management skills.
• General knowledge of Windows-based computer operating system and Microsoft office package.
• Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff.
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, counseling, and issuing discipline to maintenance staff members
• Manage equipment, parts and supplies inventories.
• Ensure all mechanics have proper licenses and certifications.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment history.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the maintenance department.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Other duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance facility.
