Job summary

Republic Services in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a shop of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and alternate-fuel trucks and heavy equipment. You will plan and schedule work, coach staff, and ensure safety and compliance with federal and state regulations while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring safe working practices and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to lead technicians and assigned workers to perform repairs and maintenance safely, efficiently and on time.
• Monitor performance and efficiency; report to management and recommend improvements.
• Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, coaching and performance evaluations; participate in hiring decisions with HR.
• Inspect outside repairs for safety and compliance; ensure repairs meet company procedures and regulations.
• Oversee diagnostic work on complex issues and road test vehicles when needed.
• Maintain inventory control and budget adherence for shop materials and equipment.
