Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance shop and a team of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of trucks, containers, and other heavy equipment. You will plan and schedule work to keep operations safe, compliant, and productive.

You will coach staff, conduct safety inspections, manage shop inventory, and collaborate with management on budgets and process improvements while ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment.
• 1 year in a lead technician/supervisory role.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians in the maintenance shop to perform safe, efficient repairs.
• Direct repair planning and scheduling to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Conduct daily shop huddles, coaching, counseling and performance reviews.
• Inspect outside repairs for quality and compliance with safety standards.
• Oversee inventory, budgets, and approval of expenses within scope; escalate major costs.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engines, emissions, hydraulics, electrical systems and welding for heavy equipment.
