Job summary

Republic Services in United States is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a technician team responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment, trucks, and related systems. The role ensures work is performed in a safe, compliant, and timely manner under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.

The supervisor will plan and schedule repairs, oversee shop operations, coach technicians, and manage inventory and budget while maintaining advanced knowledge of vehicle

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role with safe-working practices.
• Ability to ensure repairs comply with DOT/OSHA and company safety standards.
• Experience with payroll, employee records and budget planning.
• Familiarity with Dossier Maintenance Software and maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to lead technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
• Monitor operations and redirect activities for performance.
• Report performance and recommend improvements for efficiency.
• Supervise shop personnel; conduct training and performance evaluations; assist with hiring decisions.
• Inspect outside repairs to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Identify training opportunities and document corrective actions.
• Conduct Quality Control inspections and track resolutions.
• Oversee repair diagnostics and road tests for complex issues.
• Manage shop inventory and budget within approved limits.
• Maintain knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, hydraulics, electrical systems.
• Handle payroll and maintain maintenance records; document data in Dossier.
