Job summary

GSA is seeking an Equipment Specialist to support the national vehicle maintenance program. The role involves acting as a front-line contact for MCC and coordinating with manufacturers, customers, and vendors to ensure timely repairs and compliance with contracts.

Two grade levels (GS-09 and GS-11) apply, with responsibilities ranging from guiding customers to performing complex analyses. Location is negotiable after selection, and several vacancies exist nationwide.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in automotive field and cost-effective vehicle repairs.
• Experience ensuring compliance with repair contracts and contractor agreements.
• Ability to evaluate repair estimates and advise management on outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for MCC; guide customers and vendors through vehicle maintenance processes.
• Review repair estimates for cost effectiveness and compliance with contracts.
• Coordinate with manufacturers to obtain warranted repairs at minimal or no cost when possible.
• Provide timely customer assistance and research program records to resolve issues.
• Maintain and analyze MCC data to improve program performance.
